Oh yeah, that rocks! Comments about the Evoq Social new release

Different from much of the competition, Evoq Social built by DNN Corp, boasts a full integration with Evoq Content which allows for a seamless administrative and end-user experience–all at a price point that is very attractive for associations.

We were delighted when they asked us to watch their recent release webinar. During the webinar we had some, “Oh yeah, that rocks!” moments and here are a few:

MobileAnswer-small

Responsive Design: With the new release, Evoq Social made their communities user-friendly on any device. It’s more than that though. In watching the demo, they’ve really done a thorough job in executing the user experience, which allows for full-community actions right from your tablet or mobile device. This is imperative to the success of getting members to use your community on the go.

Community Manager Insights: From a community manager’s standpoint, Evoq Social has built-out a robust but easy-to-read analytics area. We think the most exciting element here is the area that defines which discussions and questions don’t have replies. Yet again, this is another big ticket item in managing and fostering engagement in your online community.

Privileges Based on Participation: Within Evoq’s Gaming Mechanics area, admins can award users for certain activities like donations, committee involvement, posting discussions, etc., but what sets them apart is the option to elevate a user’s privileges within the site. For example, you may want a new user’s to only have the ability to up-vote posts. After a certain number of up-votes, they would earn the privilege to down-vote posts (see screenshot example here). Though they didn’t go into great detail about this feature, we caught the point. Basically you can leak new powers to users within the community based on participation. This allows you to have baseline features for new users and leak new features as they move throughout the lifecycle.

There’s more but we figured we would let you say, “Oh yeah, that rocks!” for yourself. Click here to watch the release webinar or you can take a gander at the blog summary by their product manager here.

EvoqSocialWe snooped around and found a few other goodies that you might want to see from Evoq Social:

And have we mentioned that they are beautifully featured within all the pages of the 2014 Online Community Results Guide, but especially check out page #36. We didn’t have to snoop too far for that one.
